Be still, and know that I AM God

Be still, and know that I AM God.

Psalm 46:10

All day I've "heard this in my spirit."
It's not the first time. It's not the only thing.
But it's certainly the most pronounced! And it's as if it won't allow me to be left alone--even as washing waves ministering to my inner person.
Again, again, again, and again...

"Be still, and know that I AM God."

Even as a warm Parental embrace and comforting strokes of my pained places, bringing me peace, health, strength and hope!
Building upon one another, each consecutive "wave" delivering me to a greater place in Him.

Because I've agreed to share this with you, allow me to also share some of the context such as this in the hope of "coloring in some of the landscape" that you too might be with me where I am. For I believe this is Good--because I am being ministered to in my inside, and He is glorified, and because He has loved me I would that you too would likewise have such Peace, Love, and Joy!

"Be still, and know that I AM God."

I see in my mind's eye a small wooden boat of a few passengers on a sea of rapidly increasing foreboding. The gathered are beginning to twist, tense up, and clamor for an unknown deliverance. All are embracing these fears to some degree, entering further and further into the throws of desperation and manifesting actions as fruits of their perceived peril. All are fast becoming frantic now. All but One. One is sound asleep in the stern, seemingly completely oblivious to it all!
In utter desperation and as last resort, they wake Him and ask.

"Be still, and know that I AM God."

He who is Love, Perfect Peace, Absolute Power, and LORD of all instantly calms the storm. He speaks and there is no dispute, no delay, no partiality.
The storm is still. And not only the storm of the wind and waves! He who is the Prince of Peace is magnified throughout His creation, the wind, the waves, the Image bearers! At His Word immediately perfect calm is! To some degree at least, they seem to have missed this. So too do we.
(See Matthew 8, Mark 8, and Luke 8.)

"Be still, and know that I AM God."

But it's not just a story--even not just a true history.
This is a piece of His God-breathed love letters to us--to me, to you! Echoed thrice. In Love.
He has said:
"These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." (Jesus at John 14:25-27, ESV.)
And,
"Ask, and it will be given to you;
Seek, and you will find;
Knock, and it will be opened to you.

For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!" (Jesus at Matthew 7:7-11, ESV.)

"Be still, and know that I AM God."

His Word also records through the Apostle Paul,
"So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!" The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with Him in order that we may also be glorified with Him." (Romans 8:12-17, ESV.)
And,
"God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, for which I was appointed a preacher and apostle and teacher, which is why I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that day what has been entrusted to me. Follow the pattern of the sound words that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. By the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you." (2 Timothy 1:7-14, ESV.)

"Be still, and know that I AM God."

He is Good. He is True. He is Capable. He is Faithful. He is Peace. He is Love.
He loves His creation. He loves us. He loves me. He loves you!

A song we call "The LORD is Our Fortress!":
"God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy habitation of the Most High.
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns.
The nations rage, the kingdoms totter;
he utters his voice, the earth melts.
The LORD of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

Come, behold the works of the LORD,
how he has brought desolations on the earth.
He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
he breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the chariots with fire.
"Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!"
The LORD of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah" (Psalm 46, ESV.)
