Keep Looking Up

Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

We are living in an amazing era.   The times they are a changing.  Only this doesn't seem to be a Brave New World, it seems more like a fearful world, where the masses seem to be manipulated by fear.  There really is nothing new under the sun.  Fear drives and love leads.  What is needed today are the people who are called to serve in times like the one we are in.   And I believe that God has call us for such a time as this.  Remember, The Lord will not call you to do something He wouldn't equip you to do.

Remember being lost?  Remember making believe that you knew what you were doing all the while desperately clinging to the illusion of control? Remember what it is like to have both feet firmly planted in mid-air?  Remember being more concerned about how others saw you than how you see yourself?  Remember the thoughts when you were alone?  Remember being afraid to even admit that you were afraid?    Now we are submerged in a sea of people driven by the same mindset.   What a privilege it is to understand the need, and to know how to approach it.

Not only should we be looking up, but we should be encouraging others to do so.  When our eyes are on the things of the world it is easy to get caught up in the vortex of chaos.  We can discuss our eschatological differences and conspiracy theories and political frustrations amongst one another, and there is a time for that.  But what they need is to see is hope.  They need to see the peace and assurance of those who are looking through time with an eternal perspective.  The blessed hope keeps us in the eye of the storm and it is then that our living hope is displayed.  My pastor used to remind me, "They won't care how much you know, until they know how much you care."  The Spirit of the living God that dwells within us will demonstrate His care as we yield to His Spirit and become more centered on the prize He went to the Cross to obtain.  What a calling we have Gentlemen.  I am glad that I don't have to draw from my own sufficiency to do this.  The victory has been secured in Him.  We are on a mop up operation, rescuing P.O.W.s for His glory.  I am grateful to be in the trenches with this team.
