Isaiah 26:3, Col 3:2,3, 2 Peter 1:3,4, Psalm 103:1-4
Is there such a thing?
Isaiah 26:3 tells us that we must have our minds stayed on the Lord ............. this undergirds our trust in Him and leads to peace.
We are commanded to set our minds on things above, not on things of this earth............. our lives are hidden with Christ in God. (Col. 3:2,3)
Let me suggest a way for us to have our minds stayed on the Lord.
Focus on His promises.
2 Peter 1:3,4 reveals that through His promises we escape the world's corruption and lust and experience the divine nature.
I will admit that I have spent too much time focusing on the unfolding events of the world. Not a lot of peace happening as a result of that.
I will start my days claiming His promises one by one and experience what it means to have my mind stayed on the Lord.
Let me challenge you to do the same.
Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; 4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies.
